The 2021 Summer Olympics are officially underway, but will bring the official opening ceremony of the Tokyo Games on Friday, July 23rd. The event will be held at the Japan National Stadium in Tokyo's Shinjuku Ward. The stadium can seat up to 6,000,000 spectators, but will be attended by about 10,000 diplomats, foreign dignitaries, Olympic sponsors and IOC members after the Games are decided by no fans. With Tokyo 13 hours off the east coast of the United States, NBC is offering two different options for this year's opening ceremony. The NBC opening show will start at 5:55 a.m. Tokyo on Friday morning when it will be held in Tokyo and then again Primetime in the United States will start at 7:30 p.m.

NBC will return at 8:30 a.m. with a primetime replay of the show. If you are not broadcasting between 5:55 a.m. or 5:30 p.m., NBC will offer an overnight replay from 12:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
