She’ll be defending two 126-pound belts on Thursday at Plaza del Quinto Centenario in Old San Juan. The southpaw has won 25 consecutive fights – 20 by knockout — since losing a decision to Frida Wallberg back in 2012. She fought last on Dec. 16, when she stopped Dahiana Santana in the first round. Bermudez currently holds bantamweight and junior featherweight titles, meaning she’s attempting to hold belts in three divisions simultaneously. The Argentine also is on a hot streak, having gone 13-0-1 since he was outpointed by Yesica Bopp in 2014. She stopped Cintia Castillo in 10 rounds on Dec. 4.

AMANDA SERRANO COULD FIGHT YAMILETH MERCADO TOMORROW, CLAIMS COACH

Three belts are on the line this Sunday.

Amanda Serrano’s preparation for her title fight with Yamileth Mercado has gone so well she would be ready to compete now, claimed her coach Jordan Maldonado.

Serrano is a 10-belt champion across seven divisions and is the world champion at 126lbs. She faces Mercado, the WBC champion at 122lbs, on Sunday August 29. The fight is the co-main event of the Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley clash, with the IBO, WBC and WBO titles on the line.

Serrano believes that the work she has done in the gym leaves her ready for the fight this weekend and she is not struggling to make weight a few days out.

"I am very happy with the training we did for this fight," said Serrano, reported Boxing Scene.

"My sister Cindy, once again, gave her body and soul to me in the gym. She was a great help and soon they will see her back in the ring.

"I am only three pounds away from the weight. On Saturday we will knock out the weigh-in without a problem and on Sunday I am going to give all the casual and non-casual boxing fans the best possible show," Serrano said.

"It is important that Yamileth (Mercado) and I are well prepared because we are two Latinas representing women's boxing and there is a lot of weight to carry. I only know that together we can continue to change the game and open doors for future generations to increase the exposure on the big platforms."

Maldonado was similarly bullish, saying: "Amanda can fight tomorrow if they let her. She has trained 100 percent since she decided to enter boxing 14 years ago. She is in superb condition, but we don't trust that.

“We remain focused on the plan and let the fans enjoy the beauty of women's boxing and the rivalry between Mexico and Puerto Rico."
